HAUNTED HYZERS SPONSOR INFO
Greetings, boils and ghouls!
If you’re reading this, you’ve volunteered your time and dragged your finest horrors out of storage to help turn Kaposia into a waking nightmare!
To our decorating crews, sponsors, and everyone lending a hand, severed or otherwise: THANK YOU! Your support brings Haunted Hyzers to life, and your fairways of fright are a huge part of what makes this event worth crawling out of the grave for!
Before you unleash your little slice of terror, we have a few things to keep our haunt from becoming an actual horror story.
Rise Early, Rest in Peace
Arrive early and give yourself plenty of decorating time! Hauling props through the woods takes longer than you think, especially when the bodies won’t cooperate. Finish with time to sit down, eat something, check in, and catch your breath before the players meeting.
Suggested Arrival: 8am-9am to allow yourself enough time for setup and rest
Player check-in: 12:00–1:15 PM
Group photo: ~1:15 PM · Players meeting: ~1:30 PM
Times are approximate, as always.
Borrow from the Crypt
We’ll provide the basket lights. Limited extra lighting and possibly some decorations may be available to borrow. Bring your own batteries, fasteners, tools, and other setup supplies, and make a plan to return anything you borrow after the event.
Haunt the Woods but Spare the Trees
No altering the course! That means no cutting down trees, trimming branches, digging, painting, or leaving anything permanent. Every decoration and attachment needs to come back out at the end of the night!
- Keep tee areas, throwing lines, baskets, and walking paths clear. Players should fear your decorations, not trip over them.
- Secure props against wind and keep cords and ties out of foot traffic. Check your setup in daylight and after dark.
- Aim accent lights at the scenery, not into players’ eyes. Be very careful with Lasers and where you aim them!
A Tangled Tale of Terror
Be very careful with artificial spiderwebbing. We learned the first year that stretching it through branches and brush is easy. Getting every last strand back out is a special circle of hell!
Give Your Crew Its Due
Each Hole of Horror will have a custom sign recognizing its decorating crew and supporters. Make sure we have the names you want included. Every decorated hole is also eligible for the Best Hole of Horror award, so give those judges something to lose sleep over!
Vanish Without a Trace
After the final round and prize/trophy handout, your entire hole and fairway must be completely cleared and cleaned up! Props, lights, signs, zip ties, tape, webbing, trash: all of it goes home. Bring trash bags and something to safely remove your fasteners. Give the area one last sweep before you leave.
Don’t leave your haunt behind for someone else to exorcise!
Leave Kaposia as though we were ghosts and never there.
Thanks for helping us raise the dead!
Now go make something dreadful!
